another installation of „videotunnel“-in my studio in munich on zhe occasion of an event of GEWOFAG, july 2012
video tunnel is an installation practice i have used several times:
a very small monitor is located at the end of a shaft or corridor that is cordoned off by signalling tape and inaccessible to visitors. the video cannot be seen clearly with the naked eye.
the visitor has the opportunity to view the film more closely from the barrier using a pair of binoculars provided and to listen to the accompanying sound via headphones.
this form of presentation arouses some curiosity and requires personal initiative and concentration on the video. (ulrich phips fischer)
